Overview
We are seeking an experienced Trust Officer to join our Texas based Regional Bank’s Trust Department. This role is ideal for a fiduciary professional who thrives in a relationship driven banking environment and understands the unique legal, regulatory, and cultural landscape of serving clients. The Trust Officer will administer a diverse portfolio of personal trust, estate, agency, and investment accounts while delivering the high touch service expected from a community focused regional institution.
Responsibilities Fiduciary Account Administration
Manage a portfolio of trust, estate, Employee Benefits/IRA, agency, and custody accounts in accordance with Texas trust law, bank policies, and fiduciary standards.
Interpret wills, trust instruments, and court documents to ensure accurate execution of fiduciary duties.
Conduct regular account reviews to ensure compliance, proper asset management, and alignment with client goals.
Coordinate with internal operations, compliance, and investment teams to ensure seamless account administration.
Client & Community Relationship Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, CPAs, and wealth advisors across Texas markets.
Build and maintain strong relationships rooted in trust, responsiveness, and local community engagement.
Represent the bank at community events, estate‑planning councils, and professional associations to strengthen the bank’s regional presence.
Investment & Financial Oversight
Partner with the bank’s investment management team to monitor portfolio performance and ensure adherence to investment policy statements.
Oversee cash flow, distributions, tax considerations, and annual reporting requirements.
Evaluate asset allocations and risk profiles to support prudent fiduciary decision‑making.
Regulatory & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with Texas Property Code, federal regulations, and internal fiduciary policies.
Identify and mitigate fiduciary risks through proactive oversight and documentation.
Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and ongoing governance processes.
Business Development & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and support new business referrals from bankers and wealth advisors.
Collaborate with retail, commercial, and private banking teams to deliver integrated financial solutions.
Participate in strategic initiatives to grow the Trust Department’s presence across Texas.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certification (CTFA, CFP, JD, CPA) strongly preferred.
Minimum 5–7 years of trust administration or fiduciary services experience, ideally within a regional or community bank environment.
Strong knowledge of Texas trust law, estate settlement practices, and fiduciary regulations.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and professional partners.
High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment.
Proficiency with trust accounting systems and financial software.
