$2B+ publicly traded organization , that is seeking a
Senior Director of Technical Accounting & Consolidations
to lead the company’s global technical accounting function and oversee the consolidation and external reporting processes. This role is a key leadership position within the corporate finance organization and will partner closely with senior leadership to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and evolving accounting standards.
This Senior Director will provide subject matter expertise on complex accounting matters, oversee the consolidation of global financial results, and lead the evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements. This role reports to the VP of Financial Reporting and will have regular interaction with the VP, Corporate Controller, CAO, executive leadership, external auditors, and cross-functional teams across the organization. The CAO is INCREDIBLE and is focused on building out a collaborative, positive culture that rewards mentorship, team building, and process improvement/efficiency recommendations. Hybrid schedule of three days in office per week
Key Responsibilities
Lead the
global consolidation process
for multiple domestic and international entities, ensuring timely and accurate consolidated financial statements.
Serve as the
technical accounting expert
for the organization, researching and documenting complex accounting matters in accordance with
U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations .
Evaluate and implement
new accounting standards and pronouncements , including preparation of technical memos and accounting position papers.
Support the
SEC reporting process , including review of quarterly and annual filings (10-Q, 10-K, and other filings as needed).
Partner with business leaders and finance teams to assess the accounting implications of
strategic transactions , including acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and new business initiatives.
Oversee consolidation systems and processes, driving
continuous improvement and automation
where possible.
Lead and develop a team responsible for
technical accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting support .
Act as a key liaison with
external auditors
and support the quarterly and annual audit processes.
Collaborate closely with FP&A, tax, treasury, and operational finance teams to ensure alignment across financial reporting activities.
Ensure strong
internal controls and SOX compliance
related to consolidation and financial reporting processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
required; Master’s degree preferred.
CPA certification required.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience , including a strong foundation in
public accounting
(Big 4 or large national firm preferred).
Experience with
technical accounting, consolidations, and SEC reporting
within a publicly traded company.
Deep knowledge of
U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements .
Proven ability to research complex accounting topics and prepare technical accounting documentation.
Experience managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives.
Experience with
consolidation systems and ERP platforms
preferred.
