STAGEONE FAMILY THEATRE POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Education Director
POSITION SUPERVISOR: Associate Artistic Director
POSITION DEPARTMENT: Education
SALARY RANGE: $50,000-$55,000
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES EDUCATION ADMINISTRATION
Develop and implementation of long-term vision, goals, and plans for education programs
Development and tracking of budgets for all education programs
Recruit, hire and supervise the work of artists and others on contract with StageOne for work in schools, community centers and other theatre programs
Prepare summaries, reports and other information for the Education Programs
Develop marketing strategies and materials for all education programming in conjunction with the Marketing Director
Maintain familiarity with state and local curriculum and assessment and current trends in theatre education
Promote and publicize StageOne education programs to the general public
EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Plan, coordinate and implement StageOne Academy, including Summer Camps, School’s Out, Stage One’s In, and year-round afterschool classes
Plan, coordinate and implement Storytellers Live, our in-school storytellers program
Plan, coordinate and implement in-school Residency, including our Disney Musicals in Schools and before and after school programs
Oversee the development of study/performance guides for StageOne productions
Assist Development department in investigating and pursuing funding to continue and expand the Theatre Education programs
TEACHING
Plan, coordinate and implement the Theatre Education Programs, which include professional development for teachers, programs for youth in schools and community centers, and programs for individual youth
Conceive and implement drama-based curriculum including workshops and residencies in schools as well as public classes
Teach in the Walden Conservatory as available
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Provide high quality customer service at all times
OTHER DUTIES
Other duties assigned by the Associate Artistic Director/ Producing Artistic Director
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Theatre or Theatre Education or equivalent in experience, Masters preferred
Minimum of three years experience in the field of theatre education
Knowledge of arts education programs and issues
Ability to travel and work nights and weekends
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills
Current driver’s license
DESIRED QUALITIES
Experience working with teachers and schools
Experience in presenting arts programs in education settings
Experience in theatre as an artist
Familiarity with computer systems
