Job Summary In this role, you will collaborate to plan, develop, coordinate, and review project civil/structural design work. You will produce drawings, facilitate discussions, communicate complex technical issues, and prepare civil/structural design estimates and work plans. Your recommendations will ensure designs and work plans are in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, regulations, and standards. This position is designated as part‑time telework and requires at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project.

Major Responsibilities

Plan, develop, coordinate, and review design work within a medium‑size structural design work group on projects of medium to large size or assignments in support of global business unit.

Produce drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope, including design of foundations, concrete and steel superstructures, and steel detailing.

Coordinate and interface as directed with the day‑to‑day technical work of structural engineers, scientists, specialists, designers, and drafters.

Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to upper management.

Prepare or oversee the preparation of civil/structural design estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manage implementation and performance accordingly.

Develop Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Bechtel design guides, appropriate Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) and administrative practices.

Coordinate with client representatives as delegated to obtain approval on phases of work.

Review and approve key civil/structural engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries.

Mentor civil/structural designers and drafters by providing appropriate on‑the‑job training for their professional development.

Ensure civil/structural systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.

Education & Experience Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10‑13 years of relevant experience, or 14‑17 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Experienced in 3D modeling of Structural Steel, Concrete Foundations, and Superstructure.

Expert in use of Structural modeling software such as Revit and/or Tekla Structures.

Experience in BIM management, clash coordination, and drawings production.

Experience with preparing quantity takeoffs of Structural materials.
