
Seasonal Events Staff

This is a seasonal position and is responsible for providing on-site support for a variety of city-sponsored events, programs, and community initiatives throughout the year. This seasonal position assists with event setup, operations, and teardown, while delivering a positive and welcoming experience for residents, vendors, sponsors, and visitors. Seasonal Community Event Staff serve as ambassadors for the City and help ensure events are safe, organized, and professionally executed.
This position supports events throughout the year, with the highest concentration of hours typically occurring during the summer months of June, July, and August. Additional opportunities for event shifts may be available through December based on the City’s event calendar.
This is a seasonal position with no guarantee of hours.
Essential Functions of Work
Assists with event setup and teardown, including tents, tables, chairs, signage, barricades, staging elements, and other event equipment.
Provides general event support such as registration check-in, information booth staffing, vendor assistance, and activity monitoring.
Greets and assists residents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
Supports crowd flow and monitors assigned event areas to help maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Communicates event needs or issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
Assists with distributing materials, managing supplies, and maintaining even spaces throughout the event.
May operate light equipment or city vehicles as assigned and authorized.
Follows all city safety policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying equipment for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40-50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
May require working in large crowds and high-noise environments.
Hours are seasonal and may vary based on event schedules and operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to work nights, weekend, and holidays as required by the event schedule.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Valid Ohio Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in event support, parks and recreation, hospitality, or customer service.
CPR/First Aid Certification.
