The Rady School of Management at UC San Diego invites applications for an Academic Coordinator III to advance teaching, applied research, and community engagement in the field of employee ownership and inclusive capitalism. The Executive‑in‑Residence will serve as a practitioner‑educator, bridging UC San Diego with regional, national, and global business communities to advance understanding, adoption, and practice of employee ownership models, including ESOPs, cooperatives, and alternative equity structures. This is a part‑time position. Key Responsibilities

Build strong relationships with employee‑owned companies, professional service firms, and policymakers to expand research, learning and internship opportunities. Collaborate with UC San Diego faculty across disciplines to embed employee ownership concepts into curricula. Serve as guest lecturer in a minimum of two sessions or modules annually in employee ownership, organizational governance, and related fields. Mentor students in experiential projects, consulting engagements, internships, and case competitions. Organize events such as conferences, workshops, and speaker series that connect students, faculty, and practitioners. Publish practitioner‑oriented materials that translate applied research into business practice. Develop applied case studies and instructional resources drawn from practice. Secure external resources through partnerships, grants, and philanthropy to support programs and student engagement. The Executive‑in‑Residence will report to the Assistant Dean of Strategy and External Relations and will work closely with the Executive Director of the Sullivan Center. Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Degree in business, economics, finance, management, law, or a related field. Professional experience (15+ years) advising or working with employee‑owned firms, cooperatives, or alternative ownership structures. Experience collaborating across disciplines and engaging in cross‑sector initiatives. Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in business, economics, finance, management, law, or a related field (Ph.D., JD, MBA, or DBA strongly preferred). Experience securing external funding, sponsorships, or grants to support applied research, entrepreneurial or community‑based initiatives. Demonstrated record of innovation in experiential or applied learning. Strong professional network in employee ownership, organizational governance, or business succession planning.
