We are seeking an experienced
Civil Designer
to support the design and detailing of structural steel systems used in utility and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on producing high-quality CAD drawings and fabrication packages for steel structures such as equipment platforms, relay houses, and equipment support systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience creating
structural steel and fabrication drawings , converting engineering concepts into detailed shop drawings, and coordinating closely with engineers and fabrication teams to ensure designs are accurate, constructible, and compliant with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed
CAD drawings and structural steel fabrication drawings
for infrastructure and utility projects.
Convert
engineering concept drawings and models
into detailed shop drawings and fabrication packages.
Develop drawings for
steel platforms, equipment supports, relay houses, and substation structures .
Prepare
installation drawings and field-ready documentation
to support construction teams.
Coordinate with
civil/structural engineers, designers, and fabrication shops
to ensure drawings meet design intent and constructability requirements.
Ensure drawings align with
AISC standards and structural steel detailing practices .
Review structural layouts and engineering models to develop accurate detailing and connection concepts.
Maintain high standards for
drawing accuracy, documentation quality, and revision control .
Communicate with fabrication teams to support steel manufacturing and installation.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience
as a Civil Designer, Structural Designer, or CAD Drafter.
Strong experience producing
structural steel and fabrication drawings .
Experience converting
engineering concepts into detailed shop drawings .
Experience supporting
steel fabrication shops and preparing fabrication packages .
Familiarity with
AISC standards and structural steel detailing practices .
Experience preparing
installation drawings and construction documentation .
Ability to collaborate with
civil/structural engineers, fabricators, and design teams .
Strong attention to
detail, accuracy, and constructability .
