Overview The State Highway Administration’s Office of Real Estate (ORE) (Baltimore City) is recruiting a Real Property Supervisor. This position is open to anyone meeting the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification.
Nature of Work The main purpose of this position is to supervise the staff and operations of the Records and Research Section (R&R). This position will ensure the timely and accurate response to all research requests and maintain the records pertaining to the acquisition of SHA’s right‑of‑way and other real estate holdings. It is also responsible for implementation of MDOT, SHA, and ORE policies and directives within the section.

Ensure timely and accurate responses to all research requests.
Maintain records related to acquisition of right‑of‑way and other real estate holdings.
Implement all MDOT, SHA and ORE policies and directives within the section.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Seven (7) years of experience providing acquisition, relocation assistance, or property/asset management services, including one (1) year as a project manager, lead worker or one (1) year of appraisal review experience.
Selective qualification:
One (1) year of the required experience must have involved title abstracting.
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent written and oral communication.
Experience reading plats and engineering plans.
Experience in title abstracting.
Notes
Additional experience in professional or technical real‑estate work may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for the required bachelor’s degree for up to four years.
U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as defined under the minimum qualifications may be substituted for the required education and experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Licenses & Certifications
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the state of Maryland.
Special Requirements
Employees may be subject to state‑wide assignment, which may require overnight travel.
Employees must be willing and available for duty at any hour as required to respond to agency operations.
