Media & Content Specialist
K2 Space, Los Angeles, CA, United States
K2 is building the largest and highest‑power satellites ever flown, unlocking performance levels previously out of reach across every orbit. Backed by $450M from leading investors, we’re mass‑producing the highest‑power satellite platforms ever built for missions from LEO to deep space.
The rise of heavy‑lift launch vehicles is shifting the industry from an era of mass constraint to one of mass abundance, and we believe this new era demands a fundamentally different class of spacecraft. Engineered to survive the harshest radiation environments and to fully capitalize on today’s and tomorrow’s massive rockets, K2 satellites deliver unmatched capability at constellation scale and across multiple orbits.
With multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027, we’re building bigger to develop the solar system and become a Kardashev Type II (K2) civilization.
As K2 Space’s first dedicated Content & Media Specialist, you’ll help build and manage our owned content engine, turning technical progress into clear, consistent storytelling that strengthens our position in the market and brings our mission to life. Partnering directly with Marketing & Comms, you’ll shape how K2 shows up across our channels. You’ll translate company milestones and engineering breakthroughs into thoughtful, high‑quality content— from social posts to photo, video, and campaign assets— that supports go‑to‑market efforts, recruiting, and how we engage with customers and partners.
You’ll partner with Engineering and Leadership to capture the real substance behind the work and turn it into accurate, compelling stories that expand our reach. This is a hands‑on role: you’ll manage day‑to‑day content execution, lead in‑house media capture and editing, and coordinate external creative partners.

Capture and edit in‑house photo and video, and develop supporting visual assets to package content across channels
Collaborate across Engineering, Product, Business Development, and People teams to capture milestones, technical breakthroughs, and key company moments
Extend PR moments into owned channels by translating announcements and media coverage into content for social, web, and other platforms
Develop creative briefs and manage external production partners, including scope, budgets, timelines, and deliverables
Develop a structured internal media library with proper labeling and usage controls
Track content performance and audience growth, using data‑driven insights to improve output
Ensure proper ownership, usage rights, and adherence to review processes across all collateral
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in content, media, or brand at a startup or high‑growth company
Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical material into clear, accurate, and compelling storytelling
Strong writing and editing skills across short‑form and long‑form content

Comfortable capturing and editing in‑house photo and video in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment
Experience managing external creative partners, including briefing, scope, timelines, and deliverables
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and technical teams
Sound judgment when working with sensitive or proprietary information
Highly organized, self‑directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
Nice to Have
