Senior Commercial Credit Administrator
Assumes responsibility for advanced commercial credit underwriting and analysis. Independently underwrites complex commercial loan requests, including new originations, renewals, modifications, and extensions. Analyzes borrower financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, global debt service coverage, collateral valuation, guarantor strength, and industry risk. Structures credit facilities to mitigate risk, including covenants, collateral requirements, guarantees, and loan conditions. Conducts in-depth analysis of income-producing real estate, construction lending, and business operating loans in accordance with REV FCU lending policy. Performs site inspections and borrower interviews as required to support underwriting conclusions. Supports commercial lending decision-making and governance. Prepares clear, well-supported written credit memorandums with risk ratings and recommendations. Presents loan requests to the Business Loan Committee and provides expert credit guidance. Recommends approvals, counteroffers, or declines within established lending authority and policy limits. Assists with waiver requests and policy exceptions for Board or committee consideration. Provides subject-matter expertise on complex or higher-risk credits. Assumes responsibility for ongoing portfolio credit quality and risk management. Conducts annual reviews and ongoing credit monitoring for the overall commercial portfolio. Identifies emerging credit risk, trends, and early warning signs within the portfolio. Participates in loan downgrades, risk rating adjustments, and problem loan strategies. Ensures appropriate documentation and credit support for long-term or complex credit structures. Ensures compliance with lending policy and regulatory standards. Ensures underwriting decisions comply with internal lending policies, NCUA regulations, and safe and sound banking practices. Supports internal audits, external audits, and regulatory examinations by providing underwriting documentation and explanations. Maintains thorough, accurate, and well-documented credit files. Serves as a senior credit resource and collaborator. Provides guidance and support to relationship managers, processors, and the underwriting team regarding credit structure and risk considerations. Assists in the development, refinement, and interpretation of commercial lending policies and procedures. Participates in meetings and committees as required, including the Business Loan Committee. Supports reporting and special projects. Contributes to monthly and quarterly reports as needed. Assists with special projects related to portfolio analysis, stress testing, policy updates, or program enhancements. Supports the efforts to sell loan participations, which may include loading them to the participation portal, document execution, and ensuring annual reviews are timely and submitted to participating lenders. Remains current on changes in commercial lending, underwriting standards, and regulatory guidance. Experience Required: Minimum of seven years of progressive commercial lending or underwriting experience. Demonstrated experience underwriting complex commercial and real estate credits. Experience presenting credit recommendations to loan committees or senior leadership. Experience with problem loan identification and resolution preferred. Skills/Abilities: Expert financial analysis and cash flow modeling skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Experience with Abrigo and Built software a plus High level of independent judgment and attention to detail. Ability to balance growth objectives with prudent risk management.
