Sales Manager Responsibilities

Hire, train, and develop a team of automotive sales professionals

Coach sales staff on proven sales processes and closing techniques

Set sales goals, monitor progress, and lead the team to meet and exceed targets

Assist customers in selecting the right vehicle by asking questions and understanding their needs

Explain vehicle performance, features, benefits, and available options to prospective customers

Present and demonstrate pre-owned vehicles in a professional and knowledgeable manner

Help overcome objections, structure deals, and support the sales team throughout the sales process

Provide daily leadership, accountability, and motivation to the sales team

Assist in closing deals and ensuring outstanding customer experience

Sales Manager Qualifications

Previous automotive dealership sales management experience required

Strong leadership skills with a passion for training and developing employees

High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude throughout the workday

Proven track record of stability and performance

Goal-oriented mindset with strong negotiation skills

Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability

Excellent customer service, communication, and computer skills

Basic math skills

Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required
