This is a temporary, hybrid position expected to last 2–3 months, requiring 30–40 hours per week, 2 days (Wednesday & Thursday) in the office. The role may be engaged as either a W-2 temporary employee or a 1099 contractor.

Position Summary The Video Editor & Animator is responsible for editing and enhancing video content to create a polished and visually appealing final product. They work closely with marketing communications, content production, brand and other team members to bring the creative vision to life.

Responsibilities Video Editing

Import and organize video and audio footage.

Cut and arrange footage to create a sequence that tells a compelling story.

Edit video and audio to improve visual and auditory quality.

Add transitions, effects, graphics, and animations to enhance the video.

Ensure video continuity and consistency.

Motion Graphics

Create and animate text and/or vector graphics to effectively enhance and communicate a story, working independently or collaboratively with designers, with minimal oversight and direction.

Adjust and enhance audio elements, including dialogue, music, and sound effects.

Sync audio with video for perfect timing.

Eliminate unwanted background noise and ensure high-quality sound.

Video Production

Assist with camera for video production.

Color Correction and Grading

Adjust the color and tone of video footage to create a specific mood or look.

Ensure consistency in color and lighting throughout the video.

Work closely with producers, directors, and other team members to understand the project's creative vision.

Incorporate feedback and revisions into the editing process.

Communicate effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.

Media Management

Maintain organized and efficient file management systems.

Backup and archive project files to ensure data security.

Software Proficiency

Offer ideas and suggestions for improving the visual and emotional impact of the video.

Bring a strong creative eye to create visually compelling content that is on brand and on trend.

Maintain proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or other industry-standard tools.

Stay updated with the latest editing software and techniques.

Technical Skills

Be able to troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during the editing process.

Creativity

Bring creativity and a strong sense of storytelling to the editing process.

This Could Be You If

Five (5) plus years of editing experience, preferably in agency, brand, or cable network settings.

Senior knowledge in non-linear editing on Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects) and familiarity with tools like CapCut.

Five (5) plus years of experience with motion graphics and animation.

Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is a plus.

Knowledge of 3D modeling and animation software.

Understanding of visual effects (VFX) and compositing.

Expert knowledge of color theory and grading.

Meticulous attention to detail, aligning with style guides and brand standards.

Strong artistic eye with a passion for creating visually compelling work.

Competence in Google applications, including Docs and Sheets.

Capability to edit content that resonates with brand identity and style guidelines.

Strong aptitude for visual storytelling, regardless of spoken content.

Experience archiving video projects using various linear editing platforms as per established departmental norms.

AI Tools & Creative Technologies

Kling AI — Generate realistic AI videos from text prompts or animate static images into short video clips.

Google Veo, Gemini & NanoBanana — Utilize Google’s AI tools for text-to-video generation, research, writing assistance, and experimental creator video production.

Adobe Firefly & Adobe AI Tools — Use AI within Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) to generate images, apply text effects, and streamline design and video editing workflows.

ElevenLabs — Create high-quality AI voiceovers and voice cloning from text for narration and audio content.

The Legal bits The salary range for this role is $43.00 - $47.00 hourly. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay position within the wage range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. This compensation range may also be modified in the future.
