Salary $50,000 is determined commensurate with experience.
Position Summary: We are seeking a reliable, hands‑on, and proactive
Property Maintenance/Caretaker
to oversee the daily upkeep and general maintenance of a commercial property
Bethany Arts Community . This position will be responsible for both preventive maintenance and day‑to‑day tasks to ensure the property remains in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Perform routine maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and landscaping
Conduct regular inspections of the property and report or resolve any issues
Maintain cleanliness of communal and outdoor areas (driveways, walkways, trash areas, etc.)
Monitor and coordinate with service providers (e.g., electricians, pest control, HVAC techs)
Handle emergency repairs as needed, including after hours
Ensure all equipment and systems (HVAC, water heaters, lighting, etc.) are functioning properly
Oversee deliveries and grant access to artist residents, vendors or contractors
Provide basic support to residents/staff such as welcoming guests (artists in residence), light repairs, etc.
Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools
Respond to requests or concerns in a timely and respectful manner
Interact with all members of the community and work well with others in a collaborative setting
Qualifications:
Proven experience in general maintenance, building systems, or a similar role
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general handyman work
Basic knowledge of utility vehicle operation (e.g., tractor, gator, lawn equipment)
Ability to troubleshoot and problem‑solve independently
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to lift 50–100lbs, climb ladders and perform physical tasks
Must be dependable, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality
Basic computer skills for scheduling and communication
Previous live‑in caretaker experience a plus
Valid driver’s license and clean background check
Optional private living accommodations provided (utilities included)
Competitive salary based on experience
