Position Overview
Parkes & Lamb Interiors is seeking an experienced Interior Designer with a minimum of 3 years of experience in high-end residential design to join our team. This position will be located in Nashville, TN, and relocation will be required. We are seeking proactive and organized candidates with an eye for detail and a strong understanding of high-end design. The ideal candidate will be a self‑motivated problem‑solver who excels at keeping projects on track by anticipating next steps and proactively addressing challenges. As a Junior Designer, you will be involved in every stage of the design process and assist with managing the technical, creative and administrative processes under the guidance and creative direction of the Principal Designers. Desired Skills & Qualifications
Ability to execute design tasks independently and to anticipate the next steps in the design process. Experience with project management and high-end construction projects. Excellent written and graphic communication skills. Able to prioritize duties and work effectively. Ability to juggle numerous projects at different stages while keeping all projects organized and progressing. Able to effectively develop and communicate design concepts. Understanding of space planning principles. An eye and appreciation for timeless details and an overall thoughtful and authentic design aesthetic. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience
in high-end residential interior design. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Access to reliable transportation. A portfolio showcasing previous high-end residential design projects. Responsibilities
Creating and updating space plans, construction documents, elevations, millwork and cabinetry details, technical documents and specification schedules. Attend client, site and vendor meetings to assist, take notes and work on follow‑up needs after the meeting. Assist in pricing, gathering quotes and creating proposals. Review purchase order details with the Studio Manager before procurement. Manage project installation timelines and work with the Studio Manager to coordinate delivery and installation schedules. Site visits to measure and photograph existing spaces. Source options for fabric, furniture, fixtures, finishes, hardware, tile and anything else needed for that particular client to help prepare for presentations. Work with Principal Designers to assist with project scheduling, timelines and client communication. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and tradespeople to ensure project details and timelines are met. Maintain and organize client binders, client bins, project files, presentations, pricing documentation and meeting notes. Anticipate potential roadblocks and proactively implement solutions to keep projects moving forward smoothly. Location
