Job Summary & Responsibilities
GBM Engineering is seeking a Strategy Associate to join our COO team to play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the organization's transformation agenda. This individual will be instrumental in developing robust strategies, translating complex insights into compelling narratives, and fostering collaboration across diverse global and cross‑functional stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives for the organization and drive transformational change within the Division.
Global Banking and Markets Engineering GBM Engineering is a world leader in developing quantitative and technological solutions to solve complex business problems. Working with the firm’s sales and trading teams, engineers use their mathematical and scientific training to create financial products, advise clients on transactions, measure risk, and identify market opportunities. GBM Operations is a dynamic, multi‑faced segment that partners with all parts of the firm to deliver banking, sales, and trading capabilities to clients around the world.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree
At least 2‑4 years of relevant work experience in technology strategy, management consulting, or chief of staff
Experience working in a global environment across a matrixed organization
Strong organizational skills, including good judgment and decision‑making capabilities
Proven track record of driving outcomes in complex, cross‑functional business situations
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, complex, and time‑sensitive strategic projects concurrently, prioritizing effectively to meet critical deadlines.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of distilling complex information into clear, concise, and persuasive strategic communications for diverse audiences
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability, create compelling presentations and design insightful data visualizations that effectively communicate strategic narratives to senior leadership.
Comfortable with ambiguity and the ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment and to navigate change
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proactive, analytical problem‑solving mindset, with the ability to navigate and adapt to a dynamic and evolving organizational landscape, particularly within a global engineering context.
Demonstrated understanding of financial markets, banking, or related financial services domains, preferably gained through direct experience within a financial institution.
Expertise in quantitative analysis and data interpretation, with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable strategic insights.
Highly self‑motivated, autonomous, and capable of working independently
Ability to work closely with senior level sponsors and stakeholders to create consensus around plans, activities, and measures of strategic initiatives
Experience working in a complex financial services or technology organizations
