SECURITY DIRECTOR OVERVIEW
The Security Director is the leader of the security team, working in partnership with all other Center departments setting the overall tone for the department operations by creating a culture of a “yes” before “no” mindset each and every day.Establishes a positive working relationship with all merchants at a local, district, and, if appropriate, home office level.Develops and implements strategic plans that enhance the value and position the Center for unparalleled growth and success.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBLITIES
- Training and development, motivation and evaluation of the security team.Ensuring the security team is performing on brand and meeting or exceeding established goals and objectives.
- Serving as a brand ambassador for the Center by creating a culture of teamwork and outstanding guest services.
- Being nimble and flexible to adapt to the demands of an everchanging retail/operational environment.
- Identify existing and potential deficiencies and establish best practice measures to address the conditions and satisfactorily resolve them.
- Strong understanding of luxury retailers’ brand and image and the ability to support their growth and success.
- Develop mutually beneficial relationships with local leaders, governmental officials and community organizations & associations.
- Earn the trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.
- Set the tone for security employees’ interfacing with other departments in order to eliminate territorial attitudes and promote cross-departmental teamwork.
- Constantly analyze the status quo with an eye toward continuous improvement and change where appropriate.
- Budget creation and control, expense/invoice monitoring and coding, variance and forecast reporting.Negotiates, executes and manages service agreements.Manages third party performance to ensure they meet The Forbes Company standards.
- Monitoring and controlling projects, personnel, systems, manuals, training and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory ordinances, laws, and industry standards.
- Deliver and exceed guest expectations in all facets of the valet operation.
- Manage and facilitate the risk management/litigation function to include investigations, insurance reporting and cooperation, depositions, settlements, and mediation.
- Any and all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree desired or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience.
- Exceptional leadership skills focusing on creating and maintaining a positive and compassionate high performing culture.
- A critical forward-looking thinker with demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.Comfortable in speaking and interacting with internal and external groups.Confidence to have challenging conversations and navigate them appropriately.
- Can articulate and implement security protocols that enhance The Forbes Company brand.
- Experience managing large-scale security, law enforcement, or military operations that can be applied to the high-end luxury retail brand of The Forbes Company.
- Knowledge of human resource skills including labor law, hiring practices, employee handbook interpretations, staff evaluations, and training and development.
- Training or experience in emergency management, disaster recovery, threat assessments, evacuations, severe weather, fire suppression, business interruptions, and utility failure.
- Computer proficiency at a level required to generate reports, graphs, charts or other supporting documents in furtherance of completing required assignments.
- Ability to interact with a diverse guest clientele representing a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
- Education, experience, and training must meet or exceed the principle responsibilities.
