Senior Director of Finance

This role is responsible for leading financial planning, reporting, and trade finance activities while supporting strategic decision-making across the business. The position partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and leadership to provide visibility into performance, profitability, and growth initiatives. This leader will also oversee FP&A processes, trade spend accounting, and financial systems that support reporting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead the monthly close reporting cycle, including performance analysis and KPI reporting to leadership.
  • Build and manage the annual budget and ongoing forecasts (monthly and quarterly).
  • Develop financial models to support planning, business initiatives, and strategic decisions.
  • Monitor spending trends and communicate insights to senior leadership.
  • Produce management reporting packages across departments on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Profitability & Business Partnership

  • Identify opportunities to improve margins and partner cross-functionally to implement solutions.
  • Improve profitability reporting across products, customers, and channels to support decision-making.
  • Support execution and tracking of company strategic initiatives.
  • Provide financial oversight for new product launches and innovation initiatives.

Trade Finance & Accounting Support

  • Oversee trade spend and marketing accrual processes.
  • Ensure accurate financial coding related to sales, marketing, and trade activity.
  • Maintain customer and product master data integrity.
  • Ensure financial reporting processes comply with corporate standards and industry practices.

Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Own financial planning and reporting tools, including BI and forecasting platforms.
  • Continuously improve reporting workflows through automation and process simplification.
  • Strengthen reporting accuracy, efficiency, and visibility across the organization.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and develop FP&A and Trade Finance team members.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and career development support.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and success metrics.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.

ESG & Organizational Contribution

  • Support company initiatives related to environmental and social responsibility.
  • Encourage team participation in sustainability and impact-focused goals.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in financial planning, corporate finance, or financial analysis.
  • Background in consumer products, manufacturing, or a related operating environment is strongly preferred.
  • Deep experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, reporting, and financial modeling.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning systems (such as Adaptive Insights or similar tools).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across departments and influence decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience leading and developing teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability.
  • Comfort working in a dynamic, growth-oriented business environment.
