Writes database stored procedures, functions, and loaders, using data management platforms and associated ETL processes (DB2, SQL, Kafka, Splunk, Snowflake, NoSQL, and Hadoop). Performs SQL tuning and optimization. Analyzes business needs partnering with matrixed engineering and cyber security teams to deliver scalable robust data solutions. Recommends optimization ideas using Cloud solutions for data processing, storage, and analytics. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted database solutions. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.**Primary Responsibilities:*** Designs solutions with relational databases, data modeling, database design.* Develops data access and processing flows.* Identifies and integrates new data sources towards continuous fraud detection improvements.* Improves data availability via APIs and shared services.* Confers with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.* Oversees software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentations.* Participates in high-level, cross-functional design teams.* Consults on development and delivery of major technology initiatives for the business unit.* Consults on deployment of major project deliverables.* Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users or external groups to resolve issues.* Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.* Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.* Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.* Advises senior management on technical strategy.* Researches and recommends new technologies.* Works across groups to identify opportunities for organization-wide technology initiatives.* Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.* Identifies and plans for future resource needs.* Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the organization.**Education and Experience**:Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Analytics Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Database Development (or closely related occupation) collecting, organizing, and activating data, using Oracle.Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Business Intelligence, Analytics Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Database Development (or closely related occupation) collecting, organizing, and activating data, using Oracle.**Skills and Knowledge**:Candidate must also possess:* Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing database optimization and performance tuning, using real-time SQL; monitoring reports using Oracle Enterprise Manager on an Oracle Exadata Platform (Oracle 12c/19c); optimizing queries using SQL Profiling and Optimizer Hints; and designing and developing SQL and PL/SQL (storing procedures, functions, cursors, views, indexes, materialized views, triggers, collections, and partitioning tables), using Toad SQL Developer.* DE supporting multi clustered databases and high priority tickets through ServiceNow; performing data profiling, mining, specification, extraction, cleansing, and analysis for large data warehouses, using DB2, Sybase, Netezza, Hadoop, SQL Server, and Oracle; and generating visual insights for business and end users, using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), BI Publisher, and Tableau.* DE performing and leading business analysis, gathering business requirements, and developing and testing code during all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) -- Agile SDM, change management, production support, and audit requirements; and supporting fraud detection engines in Consumer Investment Banking architecture, using knowledge of database architecture pertaining to money flow.* DE performing and leading on extracting, transforming, and loading data from and to DB2 and Oracle databases, using programming languages (PL/SQL and Python) and Unix Shell scripting (C/Bash); automating code storage in repository using GIT; performing change management, using JIRA; and developing documentation for automated scheduling, using Crontab.#PE1M2#LI-DNI## ## Certifications:## ## Category:## Information TechnologyMost roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.
