Job Description

The University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville, Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology seeks candidates for a full‑time faculty position with academic Program Director experience to join a growing academic division focused on hematology/oncology. Qualified candidates will:

  • Practice evidence‑based medicine and be enthusiastic educators of hematology/oncology fellows;
  • Possess a strong academic background, particularly in non‑malignant hematology or solid tumor specialization, if desired.

The Program Director provides strategic leadership for the academic mission of the Cancer Center, overseeing education, training, and faculty development across basic, translational, clinical, and population sciences. This role ensures excellence and integration in cancer‑focused education and academic programming while aligning with institutional priorities, accreditation standards, and national benchmarks in oncology education and research training.

The Program Director works collaboratively with Cancer Center leadership, department chairs, and institutional partners to cultivate a robust academic environment that supports trainees, faculty, and staff and advances the Cancer Center’s mission.

Required Qualifications

  • MD/DO;
  • Board‑eligible or Board‑certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology;
  • Evidence of academic leadership in oncology, cancer research, or cancer education;
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring trainees and faculty across career stages;
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within an NCI‑designated Cancer Center or comparable academic cancer program;
  • Knowledge of CCSSG requirements related to education and training (e.g., CPDM, education components);
  • National or international recognition in oncology, education, or academic leadership.
