Overview

As Portfolio Manager III - Mid Market you will analyze, structure, underwrite, and coordinate the closing of major and complex loans in compliance with the bank’s lending policies and procedures. You will work with the Vice President, Commercial Banker to manage loans, ensuring credit risks are monitored and identified. You will help achieve bank, region, and branch goals by actively participating in underwriting and closing desirable credits. You will also ensure compliance with all bank policies and all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with clients in person, over the phone, and via email to assess credit needs and determine optimal structures.
  • Gather and analyze necessary information, present financing requests with the Relationship Manager to senior management or the Loan Committee for approval.
  • Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreements, customer needs, and bank lending policies; obtain adequate information and documentation from customers; assist in resolving processing and servicing issues within the Relationship Manager’s portfolio.
  • Demonstrate superior customer service through personal example and appropriate follow‑through with customers and employees.
  • Handle additional underwriting, portfolio management, and upkeep tasks related to new loan requests and/or the existing Relationship Manager’s portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of related experience in Portfolio Management or a similar field.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and other commercial banking products and services.
  • Good understanding of regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules, regulations, industry standards, and practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of commercial credit and loan structuring, pricing dynamics; completed credit analyst training.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
