Drama Program Director

Roseville Area Schools, Roseville, MN, United States

Overview

Major Responsibilities: To lead a 150 student year round Drama program in all facets from production manager, finances, and International Thespian Society.

Program Overview

RAHS Drama produces a fall musical, a winter mini play festival (including the MSHSL Competition One Act), a spring play, a variety show fundraiser performance in late Spring, and five improv shows throughout the year. RAHS Drama is a troupe member of the International Thespian Society and attends the State Thespian Conference in January.

Hours/Availability

Primary rehearsal and crew hours are after school between 2:45pm and 5pm. Depending on the specific needs for each unique production, rehearsals may extend later, to 5:30pm or 6pm. During production week, tech/dress rehearsals extend from 3-9pm. There are occasional crew workdays or rehearsals on weekends as needed by each production. As with any theatrical job, the demands of the position are varied and show dependent, and the amount of time worked increases as the production dates draw near.

Performances are typically Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon, with strike immediately following the Sunday show. There is a Thursday school-day matinee during the fall and spring shows. Dates and shows for the school year will be determined before this contract begins.
