Job Description

Our community, Dale Commons, is hiring an Executive Director in Modesto, CA. The Executive Director is a visionary leader with a focus on compassion, respect, and resident-centered care, fostering a community known for innovative resident programming, high performing teams, and MBK values. The ED has full profit and loss responsibility and ensures compliance with regulations, company policies, resident care quality, staff engagement, financial stability, and a safe environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, directly/indirectly supervise, set performance goals and timelines, monitor and evaluate performance, provide coaching, and manage disciplinary actions for all Department Directors and their staff.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to achieve occupancy, resident satisfaction, financial performance, and a safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Implement immediate solutions to operational challenges to stabilize and maintain high-quality resident care and staff performance.
  • Oversee day-to-day functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local regulations and company policies.
  • Drive operational excellence by adhering to MBK policies and promoting accountability and a consistent resident and employee experience.
  • Serve as a central hub of support for all departments, ensuring integrated operations across care, dining, activities, and maintenance.
  • Identify and escalate urgent issues, mobilize cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and protect residents and the community.
  • Inform necessary parties of incidents in accordance with policy guidelines.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to foster interdepartmental collaboration and shared accountability.
  • Lead strategic initiatives and changes to protocols, resident programming, and staff development to influence the community\'s long-term success and reputation.
  • Analyze KPIs and operational data to identify opportunities, drive data-driven decisions, and promote best practices while guiding corrective actions among Department Directors.
  • Ensure residents\' needs are met and aligned with licensure; facilitate access to programs and activities, including transportation when needed.
  • Regularly engage with residents and families to gather feedback and assess satisfaction levels.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales to develop a strategic sales plan, market the property, drive occupancy, and implement referral initiatives to meet goals.
  • Manage finances and reporting, including budget management and record-keeping; stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting operations.
  • Ensure a safe environment by overseeing maintenance, risk management, safety regulations, OSHA compliance, and incident handling.
  • Cross-train and delegate to ensure continuity and development, including coverage during absences or transitions.
  • Promote a positive community image and respond to surveys and inquiries with corrective action as needed.
  • Lead with teamwork and open communication, mentoring and recognizing staff in alignment with MBK values.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Education Requirements: Must possess current State/Federal administrator’s licenses/certifications in good standing and complete required continuing education (CEUs).
  • Must meet minimum education units or degree/certification requirements based on community size and state requirements.
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum years of management experience in a healthcare field providing residential care for the elderly, based on community size and state requirements.

Required Competencies & Licenses

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Background clearances, health screening, and negative TB test within 7 days of employment (within last 6 months).
  • Valid driver\'s license and vehicle insurance or reliable transportation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to use common office equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; ability to explain complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Sound judgment, calm under pressure, and effective conflict management.
  • Ability to anticipate risks, create contingency plans, and maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Professional conduct with residents, families, and staff.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Mobility to perform physical requirements and move around the community; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push up to 250 pounds; assist in transfers when necessary.
  • Prolonged computer use and ability to work in the community environment; handle sensitive situations with composure.

Salary

$140,000-$155,000 + Bonus
