A sweet spot for transactions is around $500mn, with an emphasis on M&A deals.

Title: Insurance Investment Banking – Managing Director

Salary: $300,000 +Bonus + Equity

Location: New York, NY (On Site)

Execution is fully supported by dedicated VPs, Associates, and Analysts — allowing the Managing Director to focus primarily on origination, client coverage, and deal monetization.

Responsibilities

  • Independently originate and win buy-side and sell-side M&A mandates across the Insurance sector
  • Own and expand a recurring revenue book of business within Insurance Carriers, Distribution, and InsurTech
  • Leverage senior-level relationships with CEOs, Boards, founders, and financial sponsors to drive deal flow
  • Act as the primary client relationship owner from pitch through close
  • Set transaction strategy, valuation positioning, and negotiation approach at the senior level
  • Collaborate selectively with other MDs to cross-sell and maximize platform leverage
  • Maintain real-time market intelligence on active buyers, sellers, valuations, and deal structures
  • Represent the firm as a senior voice in the Insurance M&A ecosystem
  • Influence platform growth and market positioning through deal flow rather than management overhead

Requirements

  • 12–20+ years of Investment Banking experience, primarily in FIG / Insurance M&A
  • Demonstrated ability to independently source and close transactions
  • Verifiable origination track record in buy-side and sell-side Insurance M&A
  • Deep senior-level relationships across Insurance carriers, brokers, InsurTechs, and/or private equity
  • Experience monetizing long-term client relationships into repeat mandates
  • Strong commercial instincts and client-facing credibility
  • Series 7, 79, and 63 licenses preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support client relationships
