Job Summary / Purpose
This position focuses on Middleware Application Management and is responsible for supporting leadership, providing operational support, Enhancements, maintenance, and break/fix (Level 2) for a defined set of Entergy TIBCO applications in the Middleware area supporting all Business Units. The primary focus of this role will be to support Entergy’s TIBCO environments, TIBCO applications, and TIBCO products—Enterprise Message Service, BusinessWorks, BusinessWorks Container Edition, Business Events, Mashery, Tibco ActiveSpaces, and Kubernetes Container environments. This role is responsible to ensure this set of applications meets stated Service Level Agreements with emphasis on continuous process improvements. The role will work closely with support teams, external vendors, and the relevant project teams to manage all issues related to the applications in the environment. This role will act as the liaison between the application end users, business users, support team members, and IT SDM.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Support Service Delivery Manager in providing customer‑centric IT; reliable, predictable, cost‑effective, and secure service to the customers.
- Responsible for working with support teams and external vendors to ensure stable operations of assigned TIBCO applications and the timely resolution of problems, incidents, and service tickets. Conduct root cause analysis of problems and facilitate the resolution of the underlying cause or development of appropriate work‑around. Coordinate level 2 (break‑fix) support for Entergy’s TIBCO applications via support teams and external vendor.
- Oversight of TIBCO Operations support and vendor support in the implementation of new releases, upgrades, patches, or enhancements. Provide leadership to the support teams (Entergy & Partner).
- Ensure compliance with all project deployment methodologies, internal standards (e.g., Security, Enterprise Architecture (EA)), operational guidelines in support of IT’s strategy and organizational objectives, and compliance with Entergy’s policies and procedures.
- Monitor the application availability against stated SLAs and performance expectations. Active management and transparent reporting of application issues, resolutions, and performance to IT leadership.
- Execute the Release & Deployment Management processes for TIBCO applications. Coordinate with Program Managers and Project/COE leads to ensure seamless transition into production environment. Plan and execute Service Introduction and knowledge transfer from project teams to Operations team. Responsible for risk management and roll‑back plans in adherence to stated policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
IT Consultant: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience working with managing and supporting production applications is required, OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree 7+ years of experience working with production applications is required.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required of the Position
Knowledge and experience with Tibco suite of products (BusinessWorks, Enterprise Message Service, APIX, Mashery, Managed File Transfer, BusinessWorks Container Edition, BusinessEvent, ActiveSpaces). Experience managing application support and maintenance functions in an organization or outsourced environment. Ability to leverage and mentor others through technical team leadership. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Customer‑centric approach and strong data analytical ability.
Certificates, Licenses, etc. Required of the Position
TIBCO Technology certifications are a plus.
