Director, Business Development - Advisory Channel

Equiton, Dallas, TX, United States

Overview

Equiton is expanding into the U.S. market and is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Business Development – Advisory Channel to lead and grow our capital raising efforts through registered investment advisors (RIAs) and other intermediary partners. This is a foundational role, responsible for establishing Equiton’s U.S. advisory distribution presence and setting the strategy for advisor engagement, platform penetration, and long-term capital growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director, Business Development – Advisory Channel will be a seasoned licensed professional with deep knowledge of investment products (ideally in real estate or alternative investments) and a proven track record of raising capital through financial advisors and RIA platforms. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of regulatory requirements within the U.S. investment landscape and possess the strategic vision, relationship acumen, and hands-on execution mindset required to build a scalable advisory channel from the ground up.

While this role will ultimately build and lead an advisory-focused business development team, it is intentionally designed as a hands-on role in its early stages. The Director will roll up their sleeves and personally engage with advisors, RIA firms, and key intermediaries to establish credibility, drive early inflows, and build the foundation for long-term growth. This role demands an entrepreneurial self-starter with strong energy, discipline, and a results-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Equiton’s U.S. advisory / RIA business development efforts in the early phase of market entry, including identifying, onboarding, and deepening relationships with registered investment advisors, OSJs, and intermediary firms.
  • Personally engage in business development activity during the early stages of market entry, including advisor prospecting, relationship development, pipeline management, and driving capital commitments through advisory platforms.
  • Develop and execute Equiton’s U.S. advisory channel strategy, including coverage models, segmentation, and go-to-market approach as the channel scales.
  • Drive product due diligence, platform onboarding, and shelf placement with RIA firms and intermediaries by navigating approval processes and building trusted relationships.
  • Build, hire, and lead a high-performing U.S. advisory business development team over time, transitioning from direct execution to leadership as the channel matures.
  • Proactively develop and manage a pipeline of advisory relationships and opportunities, expanding Equiton’s presence across key U.S. advisory markets.
  • Consistently achieve sales targets and contribute to the firm’s overall US growth objectives.
  • Ensure high standards of service, compliance, and advisor support across all intermediary relationships.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, advisor events, roadshows, and due diligence meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Product, Compliance) to drive U.S. market entry and ongoing growth.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience driving capital raising through RIA, intermediary, or advisory channels, with an established network of U.S.-based advisors and platforms
  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, investment product sales, or private capital markets, ideally with exposure to alternative investments or real estate funds; Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; advanced designations considered an asset
  • U.S. securities licensing (e.g., Series 7 – General Securities, 82 – Private Securities, 63 – State Licensing) is required
  • Familiarity with exempt securities like Regulation A and Regulation D offerings
  • Strong relationship-management and consultative selling skills, with the ability to navigate complex advisor and platform environments
  • Demonstrated success as a hands-on sales leader, capable of both driving revenue personally and building scalable sales teams
  • Entrepreneurial drive, self-motivation, and the ability to perform at a high level with minimal oversight
  • A partnership-oriented mindset with a strong service ethic toward advisors and intermediaries
  • Resilience, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity in a new market
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the U.S.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary, performance-based incentives and benefits
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Opportunity to work on high-value real estate investment strategies
  • Exposure to fund structuring, portfolio growth, and US market expansion
  • A fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with direct access to executive leadership
  • The opportunity to help build and scale a growing US platform
