
Director of Information Technology

We are seeking a Director or VP of IT/Technology to lead the IT function for a growing organization. This is a hands-on, strategic leadership role responsible for shaping the technology vision, managing IT operations, and building a team and processes to support scale and growth.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned technology leader with experience in infrastructure, cybersecurity, data architecture, and vendor management, who is equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves to contribute technically.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technology strategy and roadmap across the organization.
- Lead a small internal IT team while remaining hands-on with ~50–60% of technical work.
- Assess current systems and implement improvements for scalability, security, and efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships, select and negotiate with technology partners, and reduce reliance on external service providers.
- Ensure business continuity, cybersecurity, and network reliability.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to align IT strategy with organizational goals.
- Support multi-location operations with technology deployment, infrastructure, and systems integration.
- Mentor and grow IT staff, building a high-performing and resilient team.
Required Qualifications
- ~10+ years of progressive IT and technology experience, with several years in leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on technical expertise across data management, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business systems.
- Experience managing vendors, ticketing systems, and IT processes.
- Exceptional communication skills with executive presence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive, retail, multi-location, or similar industries.
- Experience in PE-backed or rapidly scaling organizations.
- Familiarity with modern data architectures, business intelligence, and emerging platforms (e.g., Azure, Power BI, or similar).
