Job Type: Full‑time
Position Summary
The Solution Architecture and Integrations Director serves as Brook’s authority on how the platform integrates with partner electronic medical record (EMR) environments and how those integrations translate into successful partner implementations.
Working closely with Commercial, Product, Engineering, Partner Success, and Care Operations, this role evaluates partner clinical systems, designs the integration architecture, and defines the implementation model required for Brook to operate effectively within each environment.
Health systems operate across a wide range of EMR platforms including Epic, Cerner / Oracle Health, Athenahealth, Meditech, and other commercial or internally developed systems. The Director must quickly understand these environments, determine feasible integration approaches, and design implementation strategies that allow Brook’s platform to integrate into clinical workflows without disruption.
This role remains partner‑facing throughout the relationship lifecycle — participating in early technical discovery, shaping integration design, and guiding teams through complex partner environments.
The Director plays a critical role in shaping Brook’s partner strategy by evaluating technical feasibility early in the partnership process and ensuring integration and implementation approaches are defined before commitments are made.
In addition to designing individual integrations, the Director builds repeatable integration and implementation frameworks that enable Brook to scale efficiently as new partners are onboarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Commercial leadership during the sales process to evaluate prospective partner technology environments and participate in technical discovery with health system stakeholders.
- Assess integration feasibility, define how Brook will integrate with partner EMR environments, and provide architectural guidance, carrying authority to recommend go/no–go decisions when technical environments cannot support successful implementation.
EMR Integration Architecture
- Evaluate partner EMR systems and design the integration architecture that enables Brook’s platform to exchange data and operate effectively within those environments.
- Define integration approaches using interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, APIs, flat‑file exchanges, or other appropriate methods.
- Serve as Brook’s internal subject matter expert on major EMR platforms including Epic, Cerner / Oracle Health, Athenahealth, Meditech, and similar systems.
Implementation Design
- Design the implementation model required to operationalize Brook’s platform within partner environments.
- Translate integration architecture into clear implementation plans for Product, Engineering, Partner Success, and Care Operations teams and guide cross‑functional teams through complex integration environments.
Scalable Integration Framework
- Develop repeatable integration patterns and implementation playbooks that allow Brook to onboard partners more efficiently and scale implementations over time.
Partner & Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to partner IT and interoperability teams and act as the bridge between partner stakeholders and Brook’s Product, Engineering, Partner Success, and Care Operations teams.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience working with healthcare technology platforms, EMR integrations, or clinical systems architecture.
- Deep experience working with major EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner / Oracle Health, Athenahealth, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks.
- Experience participating in technical discovery or solution architecture discussions with health systems or provider organizations.
- Strong familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7, APIs, and related data exchange frameworks.
- Experience designing integration architectures across complex clinical technology environments.
- Experience operating in fast‑growing organizations where leaders are expected to build systems while scaling them.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of how electronic medical record (EMR) systems operate within health systems and provider organizations, including platforms such as Epic, Cerner / Oracle Health, Athenahealth, Meditech, and similar systems.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and integration approaches including FHIR, HL7, APIs, and related data exchange methods.
- Ability to evaluate partner EMR environments and determine feasible integration approaches that align with Brook’s platform and care delivery model.
- Strong systems thinking and integration architecture capabilities, with the ability to translate complex technical environments into clear implementation strategies and well‑structured documentation that guides internal teams and partner implementations.
- Ability to participate in partner‑facing technical discovery conversations and clearly explain how Brook integrates into existing clinical systems and workflows.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to align Product, Engineering, Partner Success, and Care Operations teams around a shared integration and implementation strategy.
- Ability to build credibility with partner technical leaders and internal cross‑functional teams.
- Strong problem‑solving and judgment when assessing integration feasibility across diverse partner environments.
