About the Role
We are seeking a Director of Solutions Architecture to serve as the most senior individual contributor within the Solutions Architecture organization. This leader will own the architectural strategy and execution for Uber Freight’s most complex, multi-modal, enterprise engagements. This role sits at the intersection of Commercial strategy and technical execution. The Director will shape high-stakes deal architecture, influence pricing and solution strategy, and design scalable, repeatable solution patterns that unlock profitable growth. This is not a delivery role. It is a strategic design role accountable for solution integrity, commercial feasibility, and long-term scalability across our transportation ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture for Uber Freight’s largest and most complex enterprise opportunities.
- Partner with Commercial leadership on RFP strategy, solution positioning, and feasibility assessments.
- Translate complex customer requirements into scalable, differentiated technical solutions aligned with platform capabilities and long-term roadmap.
- Architect multi-modal solutions across Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, and Managed Transportation.
- Evaluate network fit, density implications, and scalability of proposed deals.
- Partner with Pricing and Supply teams to ensure solutions align with cost structure and margin guardrails.
- Design lane-to-platform solutions that optimize both customer outcomes and network efficiency.
- Define repeatable architecture patterns that reduce custom builds and accelerate enterprise deployments.
- Ensure architectural consistency across large-scale customer implementations.
- Influence product and engineering roadmaps based on recurring enterprise customer requirements.
- Establish standards for integrations, APIs, and data exchange across enterprise platforms.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders, including CIO and CTO-level leaders.
- Present solution architecture and technical strategy in executive forums.
- Support commercial negotiations by articulating technical differentiation and operational feasibility.
- Drive alignment across Commercial, Product, Engineering, Pricing, and Operations teams during complex pursuits.
- Identify and escalate architectural risks and trade-offs using data-driven insights.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years in enterprise solutions architecture, platform design, or technical strategy roles.
- Deep experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain platforms.
- Strong understanding of multi-modal logistics networks.
- Demonstrated ability to architect complex enterprise solutions at scale.
- Executive presence and ability to operate at C-suite level.
- Proven ability to influence across Commercial and Engineering organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in platform-based logistics ecosystems.
- Background in data platforms, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Exposure to AI/ML-enabled logistics solutions.
- Experience supporting large-scale RFP pursuits.

Benefits & Compensation for U.S. Employees: Employees working more than 30 hours in the US at Uber Freight are eligible for benefits like a company sponsored health plan, dental and vision benefits, 401k match, financial and mental wellness benefits, parental leave, short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and more. US based employees may also be eligible for a performance or sales incentive bonus program, participation in Uber Freight equity awards, and other types of compensation depending upon the role.
California: The salary range for this role is $166,600 to $239,750 a year.
