The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a scientific and clinical expert on liver disease management. The MSL builds and maintains strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), hepatologists, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists, and other healthcare stakeholders. This role supports the generation, communication, and dissemination of medical and scientific data, ensuring the appropriate clinical understanding and adoption of company technology. This position will report to the Chief Medical Officer.

Boston metro area based – 2 days (M,W) in the office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary scientific contact for external experts, clinicians, and healthcare organizations regarding the technology and its clinical applications in USA.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with KOLs and key stakeholders in hepatology, gastroenterology, and metabolic disease.
  • Provide scientific and clinical support for the commercial and marketing teams while maintaining independence and compliance with medical governance.
  • Deliver medical education, clinical presentations, and product training to healthcare professionals, institutions, and conference audiences.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and support clinical research initiatives, investigator‑initiated trials, and real‑world evidence projects.
  • Support the development and review of medical materials, scientific communications, and educational content.
  • Participate in advisory boards, conferences, and symposiums as a scientific expert.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, Pharmacist Degree, PhD or equivalent) required. MD preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison or related field‑based medical role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry.
  • Strong knowledge of hepatology, gastroenterology, or metabolic diseases preferred.
  • Proven experience engaging with KOLs and delivering high‑quality scientific communication.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross‑functional environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% within assigned territory and occasionally (1‑2) internationally.
