Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The University College provides high‑quality, appropriate academic advising, monitoring, mentoring, nurturing, and coaching to ensure students’ academic and personal success.
Primary Purpose of Position
Lead and support undergraduate students to develop skills, behaviors, and habits that contribute to success in college. Oversee the Aspiring Eagles Academy summer bridge program and engage/retain students in the program and other University College populations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum Education and Experience
Master’s degree and a minimum of three years’ service in education, counseling, higher education, or related fields.
Preferred: Master’s in Counseling or Education with at least five years’ experience in a college setting, two years in a counseling setting, and university teaching experience.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
- Design and implement the University College Summer Bridge Program (Aspiring Eagles Academy) – including recruitment, admissions, and programming for students.
- Design and implement academic and cultural events and workshops for each student classification to support transition throughout the collegiate experience.
- Provide training and supervision of Aspiring Eagles Academy staff; create professional communications to students, alumni, and campus partners; develop and sustain relationships with key campus partners to ensure ongoing support for the program.
- Establish metrics and track student outcomes of the summer bridge program; engage in grant writing and fundraising efforts to support the program’s financial stability.
- Serve as a member of the University College leadership team and participate in regularly scheduled departmental staff meetings and events.
