Role Overview

We are seeking a Head of Product & Technical Marketing to lead the global marketing strategy and execution for advanced coherent optical communication technologies . This role will own the entire marketing function—from strategic positioning and product marketing to demand generation and go-to-market execution .

The position requires a unique blend of technical depth in coherent optics and DSP technologies along with proven marketing leadership to accelerate growth in the optical communications and semiconductor markets .

You will work closely with engineering, product, and sales teams , translating market needs into product requirements while articulating complex technologies into compelling market narratives.

This role offers an opportunity to help shape the future of next-generation optical communication systems (800G, 1.6T and beyond) that power modern AI data infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the global marketing strategy aligned with corporate objectives and product roadmap.
  • Position the organization as a leader in coherent DSP and optical semiconductor technologies.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, engineering, sales, and operations to align product messaging with market needs.

Product & Technical Marketing

  • Own product marketing for Coherent DSP ASICs and optical communication solutions.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, market research, and differentiation strategy.
  • Develop and maintain MRDs (Market Requirements Documents) and PRDs (Product Requirements Documents).
  • Create technical marketing collateral including white papers, datasheets, product briefs, and presentations.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and analyst briefings.

Demand Generation & Go-To-Market

  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for product launches and marketing campaigns.
  • Lead digital marketing, PR, SEO/SEM, and event strategy to generate global demand.
  • Support sales enablement and account-based marketing initiatives to accelerate pipeline growth.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to support customer acquisition and market expansion.

Team & Budget Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performance marketing team.
  • Manage marketing budgets and allocate resources to maximize ROI.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across marketing, product, engineering, and sales.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Proven track record of bringing technical semiconductor or telecom solutions to market in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Deep understanding of coherent optical systems, DSP algorithms, modulation formats, and telecom/datacom market dynamics.
  • Prior experience owning or writing MRDs and PRDs.
  • Extensive experience in product marketing leadership within optical communications, semiconductor, or networking industries.
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience.
  • At least 5+ years of direct experience in coherent optics, DSP, optical transceivers, or photonic integrated circuits (PICs).

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with hyperscalers, network OEMs, or system integrators.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and resource allocation.
  • Experience working in both startups and large enterprise environments.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling market narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field.
