The Senior Manager Portfolio Operations is responsible for the operational governance, intake, prioritization, and ongoing health of the enterprise initiative portfolio. This role ensures that initiatives are rigorously evaluated, strategically aligned, value-driven, and effectively governed from intake through execution and scale. The role owns the initiative intake and prioritization process, partners with initiative sponsors to support business case development, and establishes scoring, stage-gate, and KPI/value realization standards.
This role continuously monitors portfolio health and change management effectiveness to inform scale, stop, or continue decisions, enabling disciplined investment of enterprise resources. This role works cross-functionally with strategy, finance, and business leaders and serves as a critical enabler of enterprise execution excellence. Duties & Responsibilities
Portfolio Intake : Own the enterprise initiative intake process to ensure clear, consistent, and strategically aligned evaluation across the portfolio. Business Case & Value Management : Support business case development in partnership with Enterprise Strategy and Functional Leaders to ensure linkage between initiatives, strategy, KPIs, and measurable value realization. Scoring, Prioritization & Stage-Gate Governance : Design and operate scoring, prioritization, and stage-gate governance to drive disciplined investment and informed decision-making. Portfolio Health & Performance Management : Monitor portfolio health and performance to inform data-driven scale, continue, pivot, or stop decisions. Change Management & Adoption Oversight : Oversee change readiness and adoption to ensure initiatives deliver sustained business outcomes. Continuous Improvement : Advance Enterprise Initiatives maturity by establishing standards, improving governance rigor, and advising leaders on portfolio optimization. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Portfolio & Program Leadership: understanding of initiative portfolio management and evaluation process; ability to manage ambiguity and build process in a newly established function; strong judgment in evaluating risks and value. Strategic & Analytical Thinking: ability to translate initiatives into measurable outcomes; strong financial and business case acumen; experience designing prioritization frameworks, and performance dashboards. Influence & Stakeholder Management: ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority; skilled facilitator of cross-functional governance and decision forums; strong communication skills-able to distill complex information into clear insights. Change & Execution Discipline: understanding of change management principles and adoption risks; ability to identify execution bottlenecks and systemic portfolio issues; continuous improvement mindset with comfort driving standards and rigor. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (4 years) Knowledge acquired through 5 to up to 7 years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing or related field Work Environment
