The Role: We’re looking for a Smart Home Systems Designer to translate client visions into precise, buildable system designs. You’ll collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Installation to create seamless, reliable, and beautiful technology experiences.
You’ll:
Design integrated systems, including Control4, AV, surveillance, networking, lighting, and shades
Produce scope documents, wiring diagrams, and load schedules
Specify parts lists, rack elevations, and equipment layouts
Coordinate with clients, builders, and Hive’s production team
Support field teams during commissioning or troubleshooting
Stay current with new tech and Control4 updates
You Are:
Detail-oriented with a strong technical foundation in low-voltage systems
Experienced with Control4, Lutron, networking, and surveillance systems
Comfortable using design software (D-Tools, X-10, AutoCAD, or similar)
Able to communicate clearly with clients, builders, and teammates
Motivated by precision, organization, and great system outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years in system design, drafting, or AV integration
Control4 or CEDIA certification preferred
Understanding of residential networking fundamentals
Ability to manage multiple active projects and deadlines
