Claims Professional

Chubb's Westchester Casualty team is seeking a claims professional responsible for managing and adjusting claims while ensuring a high level of customer service and technical claim file quality. Responsibilities

Provides outstanding customer service and works well with the insured, broker and TPA, as applicable, in the adjustment of mainstream casualty and specialty risks. Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions, as warranted, under direction of supervisor. Conducts, coordinates, and directs investigation into loss facts and extent of third-party damages. Directs and closely monitors assignments to experts and defense counsel. Evaluates information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of exposure to the insured and the company. Sets reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to supervisor. Reports to reinsurers and facilitates the prompt collection of reinsurance on those matters where they are accountable. Travels to conferences, mediations, and trials as necessary. Qualifications

1-5 years casualty claim handling or legal experience Should have technical competence in the handling of casualty claims Bachelor's Degree required, JD preferred Ability to handle demanding caseload of claims and provide outstanding customer service. Knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources. Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills. Capable of dealing with highly visible and demanding customers. Ability to work with TPAs and large accounts in a professional manner. Strong written communication skills: Ability to listen effectively; to confidently and diplomatically express opinions and voice concerns with other team members; and to present superior written communication to varied audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills: Ability to establish trust and effective working relationships with others on an external and internal basis. The pay range for the role is $62,700 to $91,300. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
