Salary Range: $19.25 - $24.15 Hourly Position Type: Full-Time Category: Parks, Recreation & Tourism Description

General Description: The purpose of this class within the organization is to facilitate recreation programming in the City of Rock Hill. This class works under general supervision according to set procedures. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Requires high school graduation or GED equivalent, or specialized vocational training. Requires at least 6 months of experience with recreation programs or closely related experience. The equivalent combination of education or related work experience may be considered. Special Certifications and Licenses: Valid Driver's License. Ability to receive certification in First Aid/CPR/AED within 6 months of employment Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work nights and weekends. Ability to assist with custodial duties, program/athletic field preparations, and minor maintenance needs. Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations or tight deadlines. Ability to maintain positive customer-focused relationships with co-workers, supervisors, agencies, the general public, and all other internal and external customers. Personally demonstrated appropriate customer service skills. Work is performed on-site. The incumbent must be present at work to perform the essential functions of this job. Essential Job Functions: Assists with programs, clinics, and special events at Rock Hill Parks, Recreation & Tourism facilities. Assists staff and volunteers related to programs and special events. Provides assistance and support to concessions, admissions, weekend call schedules, and special events. Assists with programming, partnerships, special events, and community outreach opportunities. Assists in hosting regional, national, and international events. Assists with security, maintenance trash pick-up, and any facility issues. Assists and/or is responsible for the opening and closing of facilities. Assists with and/or compiles daily, weekly, monthly and annual membership, usage, and financial reports. Provides staff support to various committees, commissions, and other groups as assigned. Participates in cross-training opportunities.
