Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Multimedia Communications Specialist on the Gainesville campus. This role is responsible for developing high-quality visual and digital content that advances the university's brand, reputation, and strategic priorities. This position produces compelling multimedia storytelling across video, photography, web, and social media platforms to engage prospective students, current students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, and community partners. This position is a creative and imaginative leader and storyteller who performs various functions of still photography and digital video production from concept to completion in an educational environment. Occasional need to attend events after normal business hours and on weekends.

Responsibilities
- Manage pre-production logistics, including scripting, storyboarding, scheduling, and location coordination. Film and edit professional-quality video content, including promotional videos, student and faculty profiles, event coverage, testimonials, and institutional campaigns.
- Capture and edit high-quality photography for digital use. Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in higher education marketing and communications.
- Manage and maintain equipment and digital asset libraries like Frame.io and Flickr. Ensure multimedia assets are accessible and optimized for various devices and formats.
- Collaborate with the social media team to create engaging, platform-specific visual content. Produce motion graphics and short-form videos optimized for social media platforms.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with internal clients and external partners; Utilize clear, professional communication with talent, clients, and teammates. Support recruitment, advancement academic departments, and campus initiatives with strategic multimedia storytelling.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Possess graphic design, typography, video, and multimedia development and communication skills.
- Must be familiar with current digital best practices and be able to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to work in a professional, team-oriented environment.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Two (2) years of experience in multimedia production, filming/editing in a corporate or educational environment.
- Experience in scriptwriting, storyboarding and video production as well as motion graphic skills, audio recording, and lighting.
- Those with freelance or contract experience also considered.
- Degree in film, digital media preferred.
- Experience using editing software such as Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Previous production experience with an educational organization, an agency or within a creative department.
