This position is contingent upon contract award Responsibilities Provide scripting support to the OLPA, including writing treatments and full scripts. Conduct required background research and interviews to inform script development. Serve as lead writer on select projects while coordinating closely with OLPA and NSF staff. Collaborate with university researchers, public information officers, and other stakeholders as needed. Develop scripts that clearly and accurately communicate science news, concepts, NSF programs, and initiatives. Translate complex scientific information into compelling, creative, and easy-to-understand video content. Adapt scripts for diverse audiences, including various age groups and potentially children. Employ a range of storytelling styles, including informative, narrative, and humor-based approaches, as appropriate. Produce concise scripts, typically under four minutes in length and often significantly shorter. Set-up and breakdown of equipment, sets and props. Audio, lighting and prompter functions. Camera and talent direction. Camera operation during shooting of single and multi-camera productions and livestream events. Video Production and Post-Production Functions Video Editing: provide video editorial services using Adobe Premiere Pro. Projects range from simple interviews to documentaries and complex productions with graphics, animations, and effects. Edit scripted and non-scripted productions, add and mix music and sound effects, color correct, and prepare final files. Video Graphics and Animation: create graphics, artwork, and animations using Photoshop, After Effects, and possibly 3D software. Maintain intermediate skills in Photoshop and After Effects; at least one onsite contractor should have complete mastery of Photoshop and After Effects. Narration: provide narration capability to maintain production schedules given short turnaround times and frequent narration edits. Create video files for publishing and distribution using appropriate compression software. Post video productions to NSF and non-NSF platforms, including metadata, descriptive text, and closed captions. Coordinate with distribution partners and satisfy internal and external requests for b-roll and other content in requested formats. Assist with strategically marketing NSF-produced videos to potential distributors. Seek and acquire externally produced NSF-related video content and manage internal distribution and coordination, including posting on appropriate channels. This may include securing usage permissions, obtaining video files meeting technical specifications, liaising with producers, and integrating content into NSF content management systems. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ experience in each of the following: video production, editing, and post-production. Setting lighting, videography, and audio recording in studio and onsite locations. Directing non-professional talent. Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. Intermediate-level skills in Adobe Photoshop. Integrating on-camera and narration voices, music, and sound effects during editing. Leading a crew in setup and operation of cameras, switcher, and web streaming equipment for on-location productions. Preferred: Mastery of all Adobe Creative Suite applications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
