Your role and responsibilities

The IBV is seeking a Visual Designer to add to our design team and work alongside visual, UX, and content designers to develop research reports, maintain the IBV website, and develop interactive content for an audience of global business professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience concepting and designing content in multiple media-with a primary focus on designing the IBV's longform studies for distribution in various print and digital formats.

You'll have the opportunity to function as a key member of a multi-disciplinary squad focused on using design practices to create and iterate on a variety of experiences. For this role, you'll be responsible for the visual design of individual research reports for print as well as assets that support the enablement and activation programs for those studies.

This job can be performed from anywhere in the US

Required technical and professional expertise

Responsibilities:

· Create world-class customer experiences and beautiful visuals that support and reinforce IBM's vision, brand, and business objectives across all platforms.

· Translate conceptual strategy into persuasive executions, ideas, and concepts in a variety of creative ways, while maintaining visual appearance, usability, and brand continuity.

· Produce mood boards, storyboards, design briefs, visual language guidelines, visual compositions, and other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs.

· Design and produce compelling visual reports that communicate key narratives with supported visuals, data visualizations, illustration, information hierarchy, and typographic excellence.

· Work collaboratively as part of a team with ultimate responsibility for producing finished content

Skills required

· Demonstrated ability to produce quick, low-fidelity sketches and sleek, high-fidelity visuals on tight schedules with a ton of initiative

· Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in typography, color theory, and iconography

· Experience in longform layout design, print design, and illustration

· Knowledge of accessible designs

· Ability to work with brand and design guidelines

  • Natural curiosity and comfort with ambiguity accompanied by an extreme bias toward making and a willingness to learn

· Outstanding storytelling and presentation skills

· Exceptional attention to detail and keen eye for aesthetic design and layout

· Exceptional communications, collaboration, and problem solving skills

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree

· Hands on experience as a visual designer or art director

· Knowledge of design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Figma

· Experience with use of generative AI design tools preferred

· Visual portfolio that displays strong conceptual work and layout design

· English: Fluent

Preferred technical and professional experience

Certification from the Global Thought Leadership Institute (GTLI).
