Commercial Assistant Property Manager

About the Role EastBanc, Inc., a Washington, DC-based international development and property management firm, is seeking a Commercial Assistant Property Manager to join our Property Management Team.

EastBanc specializes in the development, construction, and management of commercial retail, mixed-use, and trophy “Class A” office properties in the Georgetown neighborhood and across the DC metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities: Tenant Relations & Events

Serve as the primary contact and resource for commercial tenant event planning in the property’s events center, including scheduling, invoicing, and advising on facility use

Coordinate with neighborhood organizations and the local Business Improvement District (BID) to plan and support community events on the property’s common plaza.

Respond promptly to tenant service requests, dispatching and tracking responses through to completion and ensuring timely follow-up on every call.

Schedule vendor access with commercial tenants for contracted maintenance and service

Demonstrate outstanding customer service across all areas of responsibility, maintaining professional relationships with tenants, vendors, and stakeholders at all levels.

Financial & Administrative

Support the Property Manager in accounts receivable review, commercial tenant outreach, and collections efforts.

Review utility and vendor service invoices for accuracy and proper cost

Assist in managing commercial service contracts, including vendor performance monitoring, scope adjustments, and contract preparation.

Assist with planning and preparing annual operating budgets and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations.

Maintain working knowledge of lease terms, NNN lease structures, and tenant improvement obligations to accurately support lease administration tasks.

Safety, Compliance & Operations

Serve as safety coordinator, facilitating tenant safety meetings, coordinating with the neighborhood BID and local authorities, and managing security cameras and access control

Manage the certificate of insurance (COI) program, ensuring ongoing compliance for all commercial tenants and vendors.

Conduct routine commercial property inspections, identifying and resolving deficiencies in a timely manner.

Assist the Property Management Team with special projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Minimum 5 years of commercial property management experience (office, retail, mixed-use, or industrial) with demonstrated progression of responsibility. Residential-only experience does not meet this requirement.

Working knowledge of commercial real estate fundamentals including NNN leases, CAM reconciliations, lease abstracts, and tenant improvement processes.

Experience with certificate of insurance (COI) management and vendor contract

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Experience with MRI or Nexus Payables is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across all organizational levels.

High degree of initiative, self-direction, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, in-person environment.
