Carrier Sales Represenative

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The Carrier Sales Representative will be responsible for booking freight and developing and managing carrier relationships. This position will focus on matching freight with approved carriers, negotiating rates and overseeing the shipment. In addition, Carrier Sales Representative will be required to work with POD team and manager to achieve goals as a team. This is an in office role.

Cultivate and grow carrier book of business by developing strong, long-term relationships with carriers built on consistent, open, honest and transparent communication.

Serving as trusted company point of contact, provide drivers and carriers with the highest level of customer service possible.

Utilize team to provide a seamless carrier / driver experience and resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure carrier / driver satisfaction and retention.

Strategically match available carrier partner equipment to customer loads. Ensure every available load is covered for the day and daily outbound calling goal is met.

Acting in the company’s best interest, select the most suitable carrier and pay the appropriate rate for each load moved.

Continually build market knowledge to understand rates through proactively learning about the industry and staying current on market trends (i.e., reading industry publications).

Send rate confirmations to carriers that document all requirements and verify receipt.

Support business through 100% adoption of systems, processes and procedures.

Proactively identify and communicate ways company can continuously improve its operations.

Additional duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Prefer 2-3 years of applicable carrier sales / freight brokerage / logistics experience in a fastpaced, deadline driven environment.

Proven ability to build strong relationships.

Ability to work in a team environment while delivering independent results.

Strong detail orientation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Superior ability to prioritize, multitask and creatively problem solve.

Highly motivated and driven.

Flexibility to work some weekends.

Experience with McLeod a plus.
