The University of South Dakota is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as
Director of Executive Operations.
Reporting directly to the University President, this role is central to advancing institutional priorities, strengthening executive operations, and representing the President across campus and the Vermillion community.
Role Responsibilities
Drive execution of the President’s priorities through strong coordination, communication, and follow‑through with campus leaders and partners.
Represent the President in meetings, working groups, and community engagements when appropriate.
Oversee major institutional events and initiatives originating from the Office of the President.
Serve as a visible ambassador for the President’s Office within USD and throughout the Vermillion community.
Strengthen executive operations through proactive planning, problem‑solving, and relationship management.
Qualifications
Graduate degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.
5–10 years of progressively responsible experience in executive operations, administration, or related fields.
Demonstrated excellence in communication, relationship‑building, and strategic coordination.
Proven ability to manage complex projects, lead staff, and navigate sensitive issues with discretion.
Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel.
