Director, Rebate Fulfillment & Accounting Operations (Incentive Processing Director)
to join our growing team in
Salt Lake City, UT . We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated leader with a strong background in rebate operations, accounting, and financial controls to oversee a large-scale incentive payment and accounting function. In this role, you will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of rebate fulfillment and accounting operations, overseeing the distribution of more than
$700M in energy efficiency rebates annually . This includes responsibility for payment processing, accounting procedures, outstanding checks, escheatment, reconciliation, and financial controls. Resource Innovations (RI)

Payment Operations & Cash Management
Oversee daily high-volume payment runs, ensuring payments are released within one business day of funding receipt. Develop and implement process improvements to increase the speed, accuracy, and scalability of payment processing operations. Strategically partner with payment processing vendors to deliver multiple forms of payment. Direct prefund management and accounting, ensuring proper segregation of funds and compliance with client and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate general ledger balances by verifying cash receipts, accounts receivable activity, and journal entries. Bank Reconciliations & Accounting Oversight
Provide quality control and final accountability for bank reconciliations and prefund accounting. Personally perform or oversee resolution of complex bank reconciliation issues. Review and approve adjusting journal entries and reconciliation corrections. Ensure timely and accurate period-close procedures related to cash, prefunds, and rebate liabilities. Ensure compliance with GAAP and support internal and external audit requirements. Controls, Audit & Risk Management
Design, implement, and enforce auditable processes to prevent errors, mitigate risk, and detect or prevent fraud. Participate in periodic internal and external audits. Lead root-cause analysis for reconciliation discrepancies, payment errors, or control failures and implement corrective actions. Oversee escheatment processes, including outreach strategy, documentation, and regulatory compliance. Audit payment vendors to ensure compliance with financial controls, GAAP standards, and regulatory requirements. Systems, Automation & IT Partnership
Partner with IT to resolve system issues, improve platform reliability, and drive automation initiatives. Direct testing and validation for new programs, system enhancements, and process changes prior to production release. Champion data integrity, system controls, and automation to reduce manual effort and operational risk. Leadership, Performance & Collaboration
Lead and develop a high-performing accounting and rebate fulfillment team. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance. Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities for team members. Collaborate with Delivery, Client Support, and Finance teams to develop scalable operational solutions. Communicate directly with clients regarding funding setup, payment issues, and reconciliation inquiries as needed. Drive innovation with payment processing and funding vendors. Uncashed Checks & Outreach
Direct and continuously improve outreach efforts for uncashed checks through phone, email, and written correspondence. Establish measurable outreach strategies and ensure accurate tracking, documentation, and resolution. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. 2+ years in an accounting leadership role. 2+ years coordinating/managing third-party payment vendors preferred. Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment. Preferred skills, education and experience
Working knowledge of accounting software; Oracle or NetSuite preferred. Intermediate Excel proficiency. Strong understanding of GAAP compliance and audit support. Experience with ERP implementation/accounting system change highly desired About Resource Innovations

Resource Innovations offers competitive salaries based on a candidate's skills, experience and qualifications for the position. The compensation range for the base salary for this position is $100K-110k. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's experience, education and location.
