Job Summary Director of Supply Chain plans, develops, and implements integrated supply chain functions for Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH). This includes supply chain management, strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, bio‑medical services, vendor management, and supply chain technology. Develops and implements system‑wide supply chain strategy, policies, and practices. These meet service and quality standards, manage total costs, and align with BSWH business goals. Directs and coordinates the distribution of supplies and equipment throughout the organization. Focuses on improving the flow of equipment, supplies, and materials through the BSWH supply chain. Directs studies on service efficiency, key performance metrics, cost effectiveness, and benchmarks for planning and forecasting. Collaborates with leadership in procurement, logistics, finance, and other departments. This drives improvement in supply chain management processes within the area of responsibility and across the BSWH system. Ensures compliance with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements impacting BSWH supply chain programs.

An entity Director translates and implements strategic plans and goals for their area. Makes final judgments on operational matters and ensures goals are met. Recommends policies and organizational changes for the area. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual goals. Plans and directs department operations, handling staffing, processes, budgets, and costs. Manages and advises subordinates to meet schedules, resolve problems, and monitor performance. Oversees a larger, more complex organization or area than a manager. Often has one or more managers or supervisors reporting to them.

Essential Functions of the Role

Directs the supply chain function for assigned area of responsibility in BSWH.

Recommends and implements strategic and operational plans and goals for supply chain aligned with BSWH overall business objectives.

Directs supply chain daily operations including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, and distribution ensuring high efficiency and customer service levels.

Manages the cost examination of supply chain components. Recommends potential cost reductions and service enhancements to senior leadership for review.

Directs and monitors the handling, movement, acquisition, and disposition of assets, and always ensures the availability of supplies and equipment.

Manages the development and implementation of standardized programs for supply chain functions. This includes master file standardization, inventory cleanup, and new technology integration.

Promotes quality improvement efforts for supplies and better techniques to control quality, reliability, and accuracy of inventory and data.

Directs improvement initiatives for supply chain programs to implement best practices, improve workflows, and maximize efficiencies in the assigned area.

Collaborates with hospitals, clinics, and leadership to evaluate metrics. Communicates with team members to deliver supply chain services to the area.

Manages monitoring and tracking of supply data, like back orders, manufacturer numbers, expiration dates, product recalls, and lot numbers. This ensures accurate and timely inventory management.

Key Success Factors

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field preferred.

3+ years of experience supply chain, logistics, or related area.

Experience in a leadership role

Experience working in a large, matrixed hospital or healthcare system preferred.

Knowledge of healthcare supply chain, medical equipment, and supplies.

Experience with executing supply chain operational, process, and improvement initiatives.

Exceptional critical, organizational, and communication skills.

Knowledge of supply chain ERP systems, and current technologies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - Bachelor's or 4 years of work experience above the minimum qualification

EXPERIENCE - 3 Years of Experience
