REQ-40635NewsNation is looking for a Line Producer to join the team for the dayside program NewsNation Live with Nichole Berlie. The line producer plays a lead role in managing creation of the show's rundown and facilitates the production process from the daily pitch meeting to the execution of the live show in the control room collaborating with editorial and production staff throughout the day. The position is based at the network's offices in Chicago.Duties & ResponsibilitiesWorks with the Executive Producer and Senior Producer to create the show's rundown and manage workflow for a team which includes segment producers, writers, and associate producersWorks with director and production crew on technical aspects of broadcastWrites scripts including but not limited to opens, and teasesFacilitates creation of in-show graphics and story titlesWorks with executive producer and senior producer to copy edit showTimes newscast in the control room during live broadcastCoordinates with assignment desk and control room staff being proactive about troubleshooting problems and responding to breaking newsPerforms other duties as assignedRequirements & Skills:Experience producing for a national news program or producing newscasts in a top 10 marketExperience covering politics and governmentStrong news judgementQuick decision maker and creative thinkerEffective coach and mentor to staff of all experience levelsCollaborative team player who advocates for their show but find ways to elevate network reportingBachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experienceExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyProficiency with ENPSFlexibility to work different shiftsSalary Range: $70,000 -$75,000 (commensurate with experience)Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
