UHP is currently affiliated with 182 providers consisting of 119 physicians and 63 advanced practice providers operating out of 54 locations across Southern, Central, and Northern California.

POSITION SUMMARY This exempt, management position is responsible for hands‑on preparation and review of financial statements, financial position forecasts, budgets, business activity reports and other documents that conform to federal and state laws as well as mandates by other regulatory agencies. This position assists the Controller by both executing and overseeing core accounting functions, including accounts payable, revenue and accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and month‑end financial reporting, while leading and mentoring the accounting team.

What you will be doing

MSO/IPA (independent physician association)/partnership/JV (joint venture) experiences within healthcare /managed care services/value based care services

Prepare and review financial statements and reports, including Consolidated Income Statements, Balance Sheet Statements, and Cash Flow Statements. Prepare key analysis and support for internal and external users, such as Private Equity and Lenders.

Manage and complete the annual financial statement audits with external auditors and annual tax filings. Experience with interaction with external tax accountants on Partnerships and C-Corp returns.

Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to local, state, and federal government regulations and filings. Use tax and renewal of state licenses etc.

Guide and assist other departments by clearly communicating current accounting and budgeting policies and procedures as well as composing and disseminating new procedures and policies as necessitated by best practices and changes in federal and state regulations.

Work with the Controller to create immediate and future strategies for the organization’s fiduciary planning, procurement, investment and budgeting activities. Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management.

Provide leadership, mentoring, and hands‑on support to finance and accounting staff, balancing direct execution of tasks with delegation to meet departmental and organizational goals.

Interacting with C‑suite on a regular frequency providing accounting and strategic reports.

What you will bring to the team

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field

CPA, CMA, or Master’s degree preferred

A minimum of 5 years of accounting/finance experience required

2-4 years of public accounting experience with a CPA firm preferred but not required

Healthcare setting experience preferred
