Unit Director (Assistant Attorney General-Management) to join their leadership team. Under the general direction of the Deputy Division Administrator, this position serves as the Unit Director for the Public Protection Unit in the Division of Legal Services. The position provides oversight and direction to the Assistant Attorney General-Supervisor, multiple Assistant Attorneys General, and legal support staff in the unit. This position determines the direction of the unit and oversees the enforcement of the State’s consumer protection and antitrust laws, through counsel and representation to the Governor, state agencies, and corporation counsel and will enforce the statutes under the Attorney General’s jurisdiction. This position is also responsible for budgetary administration, program coordination and related management functions, and has the authority to formulate, determine and implement management policies. This position is headquartered at the Risser Justice Center located at 17 West Main Street in Madison. Salary Information
The
Public Protection Unit Director (Assistant Attorney General-Management) position is in pay schedule 71 and pay range 01. The starting pay for this position will be between $66.00/hour ($137,280/year) and $71.07/hour ($147,826/year) depending upon experience and qualifications, plus excellent benefits. In addition, add-on pay of up to $2.75/hour may be included for this supervisory position. Pay for current or former state employees will follow the provisions found in the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period may be required. This position may be eligible to work remotely up to 2 days per week as part of a hybrid schedule, following an initial training period. Travel to the headquarters is not eligible for travel reimbursement. Options for remote work will be discussed during the interview. High speed internet access is required to meet the needs of remote work. Occasional in-state travel will be required. Must be eligible to drive when required for travel. The Department of Justice does not sponsor work visas at the time of hire or anytime during employment. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I-9. A background check, including fingerprints, will be completed on applicants prior to selection.
