Temporary full‑time position (maternity leave coverage). The Healthy Steps Specialist is an early child development expert who will join the pediatric primary care team at Maimonides Pediatrics to provide interventions, referrals, and follow‑up for families with patients ages 0‑5. The Healthy Steps Specialist will build strong relationships with families and providers to support team‑based comprehensive care. This position will be supervised by the Physician Champion and receive guidance and clinical supervision from another Healthy Steps specialist (Chief Healthy Steps Specialist) from one of the other Pediatrics locations. Responsibilities

Conduct team‑based well‑child visits focused on development, social‑emotional health, and family guidance Provide short‑term consultations on parental mental health and child behavioral/developmental concerns Manage support line and track responses within required timelines Maintain resource database; provide referrals and track follow‑ups Collaborate with Healthy Steps team to implement core components and ensure model fidelity (CQI) Coordinate scheduling with providers and administrative staff Partner with pediatric providers on care coordination, coaching, and education Train staff on early childhood development, relational health, and trauma‑informed care Maintain databases and document all clinical activity in EHR Complete required Healthy Steps training and facilitate caregiver groups as needed Coordinate with hospital departments for integrated care and warm handoffs Participate in meetings, represent program externally, and follow all policies and safety standards Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work or PhD/PsyD in Psychology from an accredited institution required. Current certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or PhD/PsyD.) Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with eligibility for LCSW within 2 years may be considered with appropriate experience. 1– 2 years of experience and knowledge about early childhood growth and development, parent‑child relational health, infant and early childhood mental health, and family systems. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Empathic, supportive, and patient working with underserved populations in a community setting Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position; knowledge of a second language preferred. Ability to collect and enter data for program management, evaluation, and reporting purposes. Computer literacy to improve care quality a plus. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. Bilingual preferred. Pay Range
