Summary The Inside Sales Estimator prepares accurate cost estimates and quotations while serving as the primary internal contact for assigned accounts. This role evaluates technical requirements, builds cost structures, and coordinates with operations to ensure profitable, manufacturable work.

Compensation Minimum $28.50/hr., depending on experience

Essential Duties

Prepare accurate and timely customer quotations based on prints, specifications, and internal costing data

Review RFQs, drawings, and technical documents to determine scope, feasibility, and risk

Develop cost estimates including material, labor, outside services, and tooling considerations

Enter, update, and maintain quote and order data within ERP systems

Serve as primary internal point of contact for assigned customer accounts

Coordinate with technical, manufacturing, and purchasing to validate pricing, lead times, and manufacturability

Build and maintain part definitions, routings, and BOM structures as required

Support production planning through order clarification and change communication

Communicate with customers regarding pricing, lead times, order status, and technical questions

Identify opportunities for margin improvement, cost reduction, and value-added services

Assist with contract reviews and documentation compliance

Support material planning and inventory awareness related to quoted and active work

Participate in customer meetings, visits, and facility tours as needed

Collaborate with outside sales to support growth, retention and account development

Assist other departments as needed to support operational objectives

Work toward continuous quality improvement

Stay current with changing technology, including software and ERP specific programs.

Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.

Education/Experience

Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Ability to use/navigate the Internet and email, computers, word processing, graphics and multimedia, spreadsheets, and databases, and programming and scripts.

Ability to create professional presentations, spreadsheets, and or graphics. Effective online communication tools and project management use.
