Construction Superintendent - Concrete / Masonry - Orlando

Position Summary The Superintendent oversee and manage day-to-day field operations of masonry and concrete projects from pre‑construction through final closeout. They will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.

$80,000 - $90,000 a year

Key Responsibilities Project Management

Oversee and coordinate masonry and concrete projects from start to completion

Plan, coordinate, and supervise all site activities related to masonry and concrete work

Plan daily and weekly activities.

Ensure work aligns with contract specifications, drawings, and schedules.

Monitor daily progress and adjust plans to meet milestones.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to establish project goals and requirements.

Ensure that materials and equipment are available to meet project deadlines.

Crew & Subcontractor Management

Direct and support craft workers, foremen, and subcontractors.

Lead and supervise on‑site crews, including masons, laborers, and other tradespeople.

Schedule labor and equipment efficiently.

Conduct daily team briefings to communicate goals, safety protocols, and task assignments.

Monitor crew performance, providing guidance and training as needed.

Resolve conflicts and foster a positive work environment.

Quality Control

Inspect work for compliance with standards and specifications.

Ensure all work complies with architectural designs, blueprints, and project specifications.

Identify and resolve quality issues promptly.

Deficiencies in workmanship or materials.

Coordinate and schedule inspections.

Conduct regular inspections to verify that masonry and concrete work meet quality standards.

Safety & Compliance

Enforce compliance with OSHA and company safety policies consistently.

Conduct safety briefings; maintain clean, hazard‑free job sites.

Investigate, document and report on‑site incidents or accidents per company protocols.

Scheduling and Coordination

Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure smooth workflow.

Adjust project schedules as needed due to weather, supply chain delays, or unforeseen challenges.

Technical Expertise

Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.

Provide technical solutions to construction challenges related to masonry and concrete.

Implement advanced masonry and concrete techniques to optimize efficiency and quality.

Cost Management

Minimize waste by managing materials and resources effectively.

Approve and track daily labor and material usage.

Communication

Maintain clear and frequent communication with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.

Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to clients and stakeholders.

Provide daily logs, reports, and updates on progress, delays, and issues.

Represent the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner.

Address client concerns and ensure their satisfaction with the finished work.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of project progress, safety incidents, and crew attendance.

Track manpower, equipment usage, materials, RFI’s, and submittals.

Prepare daily and weekly field reports for project stakeholders.

Document and address change orders and other project adjustments.

Manage punch lists and project closeout documentation.

Equipment and Materials

Manage the delivery, storage, and maintenance of masonry and concrete tools and equipment.

Return equipment promptly when delays occur.

Ensure proper handling and use of specialized materials like mortar, concrete, and reinforcing steel.

Problem Solving

Anticipate and resolve field challenges.

Coordinate changes and work through constructive solutions.

Qualifications

Extensive masonry and concrete construction experience, with the ability to interpret blueprints, understand technical specifications, and solve field challenges using industry‑standard methods and materials.

Proven leadership in supervising crews and subcontractors, directing daily activities, maintaining productivity, and fostering a safe, collaborative job‑site culture.

Strong project management capabilities, including planning daily/weekly work, coordinating with other trades, adjusting schedules, and ensuring all work aligns with drawings, specifications, and project milestones.

Commitment to safety and quality, with working knowledge of OSHA requirements, job‑site safety practices, inspection coordination, and identifying/correcting workmanship issues.

Solid administrative and documentation skills, including tracking labor, materials, equipment, RFIs, change orders, and preparing accurate daily/weekly reports using basic digital tools.

Clear, professional communication skills for collaborating with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients, providing updates, resolving issues, and representing the company effectively.
