Qualifications
Ohio Teaching License with proper certification for Intervention Specialist is needed.
Mild to moderate endorsement is needed for this position (K-12 IS or PreK-3 IS)
Prior work records must demonstrate good working habits, excellent attendance record and evaluations.
Ability to provide a clear BCI/FBI background check free of convictions
Job Overview
An intervention specialist assists the general education teacher in modifying curriculum and instruction for the special education population on his/her caseload of up to 16 students. The successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing data to make instructional decisions for individualized student interventions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the educational records/progress monitoring a diverse group of students in multiple grades. An intervention specialist must progress monitor and provide regular updates to the stakeholders of Midview Local Schools in order to meet the needs of the students they serve. A working knowledge of the instructional frameworks and programs utilized within the district must be possessed by the candidate or obtained and implemented after hire. The successful candidate should demonstrate a knowledge and ability to work with a diverse culture while implementing effective classroom management strategies to create a structured learning environment.
